Ms. McConnell
I am very excited to be entering my seventh year of teaching third grade at Kruse Elementary School! I love working with children and helping them grow and succeed. Teaching is my passion and has been since I was a young child. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach your children and work with you this year! :-)
I am a Colorado native, having grown up right here in Fort Collins. I attended Colorado State University, where I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Go Rams! After graduation, I moved to Denver, where I was the assistant director of a child care center for two years. It was at this time that I decided to go back to school for my teaching license and graduated soon after from the University of Colorado - Denver. Prior to my current position, I was a long-term substitute here at Kruse for a maternity leave in third grade, then also taught fifth grade for a 12 week maternity leave in Littleton, CO. I was absolutely ecstatic to accept this position back in my hometown, and even more so to be at Kruse! I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a great community.
In my free time, I love to spend time with my friends and family, reading, listening to live music, hiking, camping, stand-up-paddle-boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, reading, playing piano, art, traveling, and enjoying all that our beautiful state has to offer. I look forward to getting to know you and your children and to a year filled with lots of great memories and achievements!
